Living with two Italian roommates

02/04/2025

I live in Urbino in a house-share. My two roommates are Italian girls. When my parents and I were looking for an apartment, we thought it would better for me to have roommates in order to be alone and even to improve my Italian level (which was at that time really low).

When I first arrived, they were not here yet. I was the first one to move in, and they came a few days later. At that point, I tried to connect with them, and to become their friend. To do so, I suggested eating together one night, which we did. It was fun, and we talked about a lot of things. I really thought that it would go on like that. However, the fact is that they never proposed doing something together in return. I noticed that they were closer together. But after all, it makes sense because they are both Italian so it is easier for them to communicate, and their sense of humor is probably similar to one another (because the sense of humor is not the same depending on the country). My relationship with them became purely cordial. We mostly exchange practical information and not much more.
